Bryan Mbeumo has won Manchester United’s Player of the Month and Goal of the Month awards for October.
The Cameroon forward scored twice across United’s six fixtures during the month. His finish in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham at Old Trafford also earned the club’s goal award, according to United’s official announcement.
Mbeumo October awards: Spurs finish wins goal prize
Mbeumo found the far corner in front of the Stretford End against Tottenham. That strike gave him another monthly goal prize after his effort against Ipswich Town won the August award.
His other October goal came at Elland Road. He converted a cross from Youri Tielemans to put United ahead against Leeds, with that game also ending 1-1.
The two goals came during what the club described as a challenging month for Michael Carrick’s side. The awards recognise October’s performances, rather than a new result. United have since begun November with a comeback victory, covered in our report on the 3-2 win over Roma.
Third player award since joining United
United say this is Mbeumo’s third Player of the Month award since joining from Brentford and his first in 12 months.
The club’s account of October also points to chances against Atletico Madrid, Bournemouth and Chelsea. Jan Oblak and Djordje Petrovic denied him in the first two of those matches, while Mike Penders got a fingertip to his volley at Stamford Bridge, diverting it against the underside of the bar.
United’s announcement includes video of Mbeumo’s goals; the Spurs clip is marked login to watch. No related X post was available to embed at publication. No relevant YouTube clip was available to embed at publication.
