Man United Revive Three-Year Transfer Plan with £51M Move for Highly-Rated PSG Star

Manchester United could be ready to make another big move in the transfer market as they look at a possible deal for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Warren Zaire-Emery.

The young Frenchman has been linked with a move away from the Parc des Princes, and United are reportedly considering a serious offer for the talented midfielder.

The Red Devils have already spent big money on their midfield this summer. Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans have both arrived, giving Michael Carrick more options in the middle of the pitch.

However, it looks like the Manchester United boss is not finished yet.

The club is believed to be looking at several midfielders, with Manu Kone and Alex Scott also being mentioned as possible targets. Now, Zaire-Emery has emerged as another name that could become a major focus for the club.

A move for the 20-year-old would be another statement of intent from United.

Manchester United considering £51m offer

Reports from France claim Manchester United are preparing an offer worth around €60m, which works out at roughly £51m.

That would be a major investment for a player who is still only 20 years old.

However, United are believed to have been watching Zaire-Emery for some time. The club reportedly first looked at the midfielder when he was only 17, meaning their interest is not something that has appeared overnight.

The French international has already gained plenty of experience at the highest level. He has played regularly for PSG and has also been involved with the France national team.

During the latest season, he made 54 appearances across all competitions, showing just how much trust he has earned despite his young age.

United could now believe that the time is right to make their move. There is one major problem, though.

PSG are not expected to let one of their most promising young players leave for a cheap price.

The French giants are reportedly looking for closer to €80m, or around £68m, which is considerably more than the offer United are thought to be preparing.

That could lead to a long negotiation between the two clubs.

Why does United want another midfielder?

At first glance, signing another midfielder may look strange after the arrivals of Santos and Tielemans.

But United are trying to build a squad that can compete across an entire season.

The club have struggled with midfield consistency in recent years, and Carrick clearly wants more quality and physical strength in the centre of the pitch. Zaire-Emery could offer something different.

He is comfortable playing in midfield but has also shown that he can operate at right-back when needed.

His ability to play in different positions could make him a valuable player for United. At just 20, he also has plenty of time to improve.

The biggest attraction could be his potential. United would not simply be signing a player for the next two or three years.

They could be bringing in someone who could become a key part of the team for the next decade. That is why the club may be willing to spend big money.

Zaire-Emery could be looking for a bigger role

The midfielder’s situation at PSG could also make this transfer interesting. There is no question that he is highly rated in Paris.

However, he has not always been one of the first names on the team sheet when the strongest PSG side is available.

Injuries to other players have helped him get more minutes, but once those stars returned, his opportunities became more limited. That could make the midfielder think carefully about his future.

A move to Manchester United could offer him a bigger role and more responsibility.

United would need to convince him that he could become an important player rather than simply another squad option. That may be one of the biggest factors in any possible deal.

United still looking at attacking options

Midfield is not the only position that United are considering this summer.

The club have also been linked with attacking players as Carrick looks to improve the team’s goals and creativity.

Everton forward Iliman Ndiaye has been mentioned as a possible target.

Crysencio Summerville was also previously linked with the club, but that situation has now changed dramatically after the Dutch winger reportedly agreed to join Al Hilal.

United’s interest in Summerville had already cooled, partly because of uncertainty around Marcus Rashford’s future.

With Rashford now looking increasingly likely to remain at Old Trafford, the need for another left winger may have become less urgent.

That could allow United to focus more heavily on strengthening the midfield.

A big decision for Manchester United

The possible Zaire-Emery deal could become one of the biggest decisions of United’s summer.

Paying £51m would already be a huge commitment, while PSG’s reported £68m valuation could push the final cost even higher.

United must decide whether the young midfielder is worth that kind of money. There is no doubt that he has the talent.

He has already played at one of Europe’s biggest clubs, represented France and gained valuable experience at international level.

But he is still developing, and there would be pressure on him if United paid a huge transfer fee. For Carrick, the important thing is finding the right balance.

The arrivals of Santos and Tielemans have already changed the midfield, but another signing could take the rebuild even further.

If United can agree a reasonable deal for Zaire-Emery, it could be one of the most exciting transfers of the summer.

The French star can become a top midfielder for many years. Now, the big question is whether Manchester United are prepared to pay the price needed to bring him to Old Trafford.
