Manchester United are looking to sign another midfielder this summer and reports say they could soon make an offer for Galatasaray star Gabriel Sara.
United have had a mixed pre-season so far. While the attack has looked sharp with new boys Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha impressing, the midfield still needs help.
One player who had a rough game was Manuel Ugarte. His poor display in the 2-2 draw with Everton has fans asking for change.
Because of this, United are working hard behind the scenes to find someone with more control and quality in the middle of the pitch.
Sara Shines In Turkey
According to reports from Turkey, United are very interested in Brazilian midfielder Gabriel Sara.
The 26-year-old moved from Norwich City to Galatasaray in 2024 for around £20 million. Since then, he’s become a key player in Turkey.
His strong passing, calmness under pressure, and smart play have impressed many.
United are now said to be “lining up a bid” for Sara and could make a formal offer in the next few days. But Galatasaray don’t want to lose him easily.
They want around €40 million (around £35 million) to let him go.
United Need A Boost In Midfield
United’s boss Ruben Amorim wants someone who can bring energy and control to the midfield.
After seeing Ugarte struggle against Everton, it’s clear that the team needs more balance.
Gabriel Sara could be the answer. He has Premier League experience from his time at Norwich and has grown a lot in Turkey.
Getting him won’t be easy, but United are serious about making their squad stronger before the season starts.
Collyer Likely To Leave On Loan
In other news, young midfielder Toby Collyer could be leaving Old Trafford this summer.
Reports say he’s expected to go out on loan to a Championship club. The idea is to help him get more experience.
His exit could also make room for a new midfield signing possibly someone like Gabriel Sara.
Manchester United are building something exciting. With a strong attack already in place, fixing the midfield could be the final piece.
If they can land Gabriel Sara, it might be one of the smartest moves of the summer.
