Disaster for Man Utd: Three Stars Ruled Out Ahead of Massive Derby vs Man City

by Alex Matthews

Manchester United face a big problem ahead of the Manchester derby as three important players have been ruled out.

Boss Ruben Amorim confirmed in his press talk that Matheus Cunha, Mason Mount, and Diogo Dalot will not be ready for the clash with City on Sunday.

This is bad news for the Red Devils, who are already under pressure to get results in the Premier League.

Cunha, Mount and Dalot Out

United fans had high hopes for new signing Matheus Cunha this season.

The forward has worked hard in games, even if he has not scored yet. But his bright start was stopped after he picked up a hamstring problem in the match against Burnley.

He had to come off in the first half and has not trained properly since..

Mason Mount also went off in the same Burnley game. The midfielder came to United from Chelsea a couple of years ago but has faced many fitness problems.

He has only managed a handful of starts in the league since joining, and this latest setback is another worry.

Diogo Dalot played back-to-back matches against Grimsby Town and Burnley. But while on duty with Portugal, the defender picked up a muscular issue.

That means he too will miss the derby. Amorim said none of the three are ready, though he hinted that Cunha’s injury might not be too serious and the striker could return soon.

What This Means for the Derby

The Manchester derby is always a massive game. For United, missing Cunha, Mount, and Dalot is a big problem.

These players bring energy, experience, and strength in attack and defence. Without them, Amorim must look for other options.

The good news is United do have some cover. At right-back, Patrick Dorgu, Amad Diallo, and Noussair Mazraoui can step in for Dalot.

Mazraoui is back from injury and could be ready to play. In midfield, other players will need to step up while Mount is missing.

Lisandro Martínez is also close to being fit again after a knee issue, but he will not play against City.

That means the back line will still look a bit weak.

A Big Test for Amorim

This is a huge test for Ruben Amorim in his first big Manchester derby as United boss.

He has to shuffle his team and trust players who may not have much experience in such a high-pressure game.

City will be ready to attack, and United must stay strong without three of their main men.

The fans will be hoping someone new can step up and make a name for themselves on derby day.

United’s depth will be tested, and the next 90 minutes could show if Amorim’s project is moving in the right way or if more work is needed.
