Manchester United Ready to Swoop for €25M Champions League Star Perfect for Amorim’s System

by Alex Matthews

Manchester United could be ready for another big move in the transfer market, and this time the target is Denzel Dumfries from Inter Milan.

The Red Devils signed six players in the summer window, but even with names like Matheus Cunha and Benjamin Sesko arriving, many fans still feel the side is short in wide defensive areas.

Manager Ruben Amorim uses a system where wing-backs are very important.

They need to defend well but also push high up the pitch to give width in attack.

United did bring in young Diego León, only 18, but he is still learning and does not yet have the experience to handle the pressure of the Premier League.

On the left side, Patrick Dorgu came from Lecce in January.

He has shown good energy and speed, but often he wastes chances when he gets into space. This is why many people believe Amorim needs a proven name on the flanks.

Dumfries Could Be the Answer

According to reports in Spain, United are looking at Dumfries, who has been one of Europe’s best right wing-backs in recent years.

The 29-year-old Dutch international was a key player for Inter Milan last season, especially in their run to the Champions League final.

He got five goal contributions in the tournament, proving he can make a difference in attack as well as defence.

Inter have him under contract until 2028, but the club are said to be willing to sell if they get around €25 million.

For a player with his experience and quality, that price looks like a bargain in today’s market.

United are not the only team interested though.

Arsenal and Chelsea are also keeping an eye on Dumfries, which means United may have to act fast if they want him at Old Trafford.

Dumfries Open to Premier League

The best news for United fans is that Dumfries himself seems keen on moving to England.

In a recent interview, he admitted that while he feels comfortable at Inter, he believes he could perform well in the Premier League.

He praised the English game for its pace and intensity, while also respecting Serie A for its tactical strength.

These words show he is open to a new challenge. For United, who have struggled to get consistent performances from Diogo Dalot on the right side, this could be the perfect chance to finally solve that problem.

United Must Act Quickly

With Amorim looking to build a team that plays high-tempo football, Dumfries looks like a perfect fit.

He is strong, quick, and knows how to create danger going forward.

If United really want to push higher in the Premier League table, this might be the signing that makes the difference.

But with rivals also interested, time is running out. The ball is now in United’s court—move quickly, or risk missing out on a player who could be a real game-changer.
