Man Utd To Smash Transfer Market With Sensational Bid For Wonderkid Keeper: Amorim Wants His Dream No.1

by Alex Matthews

Manchester United look ready to change their plans in the transfer market as the hunt for a new goalkeeper takes a fresh twist.

Reports now say that Royal Antwerp star Senne Lammens has become the top target, with the club pulling away from their chase for Aston Villa’s Emiliano Martinez.

Problems In The Goalkeeping Department

Since joining from Inter Milan, Andre Onana has not lived up to the high hopes at Old Trafford.

The Cameroon keeper has looked shaky, with mistakes costing United at big moments.

Fans are worried, and some are even calling for a change already.

The back-up option, Altay Bayindir, has also failed to impress.

His big error against Arsenal, which gifted the Gunners a win, only made the calls louder for United to bring in fresh blood between the sticks.

Manager Ruben Amorim has made strong moves this summer, but even with a stronger squad, it’s clear the goalkeeper position is the weak point.

Martinez No Longer Priority

Aston Villa star Emiliano Martinez was heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford earlier in the window.

The World Cup winner has the experience and leadership that many felt United needed.

But reports now say that United are not willing to meet Villa’s big demands, and Amorim has failed to convince the club to go all in for the Argentine.

Instead, attention has shifted elsewhere.

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, United have now turned their eyes towards 23-year-old Senne Lammens of Royal Antwerp.

Young Talent On United’s Radar

Lammens is a promising young goalkeeper who has been developing his skills in Belgium with Club Brugge and now Royal Antwerp.

While he may not have the global reputation of Martinez or PSG star Gianluigi Donnarumma, his age and potential seem to have caught United’s interest.

At just 23, Lammens could give United many years of service if he makes the step up successfully.

He may not yet have proven himself in one of Europe’s top leagues, but his shot-stopping ability and growth potential make him an attractive option.

Donnarumma Links Shut Down

United had also been linked with PSG goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, but journalist Ben Jacobs confirmed that the Red Devils are not in the race for the Italian international.

Even though former United legend Wayne Rooney said the club should try to sign him, United’s focus now seems fully on Lammens.

What Comes Next?

The coming weeks could be key for United as they look to strengthen the one area of the pitch that continues to cause problems.

Bringing in a young and hungry goalkeeper like Senne Lammens could be a risk, but it may also prove to be a smart move for the future.

With Andre Onana under pressure and Bayindir struggling, the time for change at Old Trafford looks closer than ever.
