The race is on for one of the best goalkeepers in the world Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Both Manchester City and Manchester United want to sign the 26-year-old Italy star from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) this summer.
Donnarumma’s contract with PSG will end next year, and the French club have not agreed a new deal with him.
PSG have already signed Lucas Chevalier from Lille, which shows they are ready to sell Donnarumma for the right price.
Reports say PSG want about €50 million (£43.2m) for him.
Man United’s Plans
Manchester United have been looking at Donnarumma for a while. Transfer insider Dean Jones says United have made their interest clear.
Donnarumma is said to like the idea of moving to Old Trafford because of the club’s size and history.
United are set to meet his agent, Enzo Raiola, this week to talk about a possible move.
But the deal won’t be cheap, not only would they have to pay the €50m fee, they would also need to cover his big wages of around €18m (£15.6m) per year.
United already have Andre Onana as their first-choice goalkeeper, and he has said he wants to stay.
This makes it a tricky situation, as the club would need to decide who would start if Donnarumma arrives.

Man City’s Advantage
Manchester City have now joined the race and might have a small advantage. Famous reporter Fabrizio Romano says City have spoken to PSG about the deal.
The move could happen if City sell their current goalkeeper, Ederson.
Galatasaray, a top club in Turkey, are interested in Ederson and have contacted City about signing him.
If Ederson leaves, City could use the money to bring in Donnarumma.
Pep Guardiola already signed James Trafford this summer, but Trafford would likely be the back-up if Donnarumma comes in.
For City, it’s a more straightforward plan, sell Ederson, buy Donnarumma, and slot him straight into the team.
What Happens Next
Both Manchester clubs are serious, but time is running out before the transfer window closes.
Donnarumma will soon decide on his future, and his choice could shape the Premier League season.
If United signs him, it will mean big competition for Onana.
If City get him, Guardiola’s team will have a world-class goalkeeper to keep them at the top. Either way, this is one of the most exciting transfer battles of the summer.
