Shock at Carrington: New Man United Star Impresses as Amorim Ready to Drop £200k-a-Week Favourite

by Alex Matthews

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is walking into a storm. The next six games will test everything about his team and maybe even his job.

United are sitting mid-table with three wins, three defeats, and one draw, and fans are starting to worry.

Amorim’s start hasn’t been bad, but at a club like United, “okay” isn’t enough.

History shows that United managers often get sacked before Christmas, Mourinho, Solskjaer, and Ten Hag all lost their jobs before the year ended. Now, some fans fear Amorim could be next if results don’t turn around soon.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has said he wants to give Amorim time, but in football, time runs out quickly if you don’t win.

Lisandro Martinez Set to Return

One big boost for Amorim is the return of Lisandro Martinez. The tough Argentinian defender has been out since February with a knee injury, but he’s now back in full training.

Amorim said, “We need Licha in this team,” showing just how much he values him.

Martinez might not play against Liverpool this weekend, but he’s expected to get minutes against Brighton next week.

His return could mean changes in defence, with Luke Shaw and Patrick Dorgu battling for a place.

Martinez brings leadership, fight, and passion, all things United have missed.

Even Casemiro praised him, saying, “He’s a soldier who works so hard. He’s a machine.”

Lammens Making a Name for Himself

Another player turning heads is new goalkeeper Senne Lammens. The 23-year-old joined from Royal Antwerp this summer and impressed fans with his calm and confident display in the 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Now, he’s set for his biggest test, Anfield away. But people at Carrington say he’s not the type to panic.

His old coach Sander Krabbendam once said, “You could put him in a fire, and he’d still do his job.” That’s exactly the attitude United need on Merseyside.

Zirkzee’s Future in Doubt

Not everything is positive, though. Striker Joshua Zirkzee, signed last season by ex-sporting director Dan Ashworth, has barely played.

Fans are asking why he’s sitting on the bench while other strikers, like Rasmus Højlund, are shining abroad.

Zirkzee could be one of the players Amorim decides to move on if things don’t change soon.

United’s next few weeks will decide a lot about Amorim, about his players, and about the direction of the club. With Martinez back and Lammens showing promise, there’s hope. But with Liverpool next, it’s a true test of heart and fight.

If Amorim can survive this run and get results, he might just keep the faith of Old Trafford fans.
