Massive Boost for Man United: Fan-Favourite Defender Spotted Back on Grass After Long Injury Layoff

by Alex Matthews

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim is not just thinking about new signings this summer, he is also keeping an eye on players coming back from injury.

The big news is that Lisandro Martinez is one step closer to being back in action.

The Argentine defender has been out since February after suffering a bad ACL injury.

He needed surgery and missed the rest of last season.

For months, he has been working hard in the gym, sharing updates with fans on social media.

Now, things are looking up.

Training On Grass Again

Martinez has finally been seen training on grass again, his first time since the injury.

He was working on his own, but this is a big sign that he is getting closer to a full return.

Reports say he is making “positive progress” and could be back in first-team training soon.

The normal recovery steps after an ACL injury go like this, first, training alone on grass, then doing ball work without contact, and finally joining the rest of the squad.

If all goes well, Martinez might only be a few weeks away from pulling on the red shirt again.

Amorim will be happy to have him back. Since Martinez got injured, Ayden Heaven and Leny Yoro have filled in at left centre-back.

They have done their jobs, but neither can pass the ball through the lines like Martinez can.

His ability to build attacks from the back is something United have really missed.

Other Players Returning Too

It’s not just Martinez making progress. Andre Onana and Joshua Zirkzee have also missed pre-season with injuries, but they are now back in team training.

Onana is hopeful he will be fit for United’s Premier League opener against Arsenal.

To help him get ready, the club is planning a behind-closed-doors friendly match before the big game.

With these players coming back, United’s squad is starting to look stronger.

The defence in particular will get a big boost once Martinez is fully fit. His leadership, tough tackling, and calmness on the ball could be key to United’s season.

A Big Boost For The Season

It has been a long road for Martinez, but his return is now in sight.

United fans will be excited to see him back on the pitch, leading from the back and making those sharp passes forward.

If he stays fit, he could play a huge role in helping United fight for trophies this season.
