Manchester United fans have been buzzing after the club’s huge £74 million move for striker Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig.
The Red Devils have been busy in attack this summer, also bringing in Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo.
Manager Ruben Amorim now has a fresh and exciting forward line for the new season.
But the new signings have raised a big question, what happens to Chido Obi?
The 17-year-old striker joined United from Arsenal’s academy and impressed last season, making eight first-team appearances.
A key reason he moved to Old Trafford was United’s history of giving young players real chances in the senior squad.
Obi Still in the Plans
Despite the arrival of Sesko and the number of attacking options, reports say United are not planning to send Obi out on loan this season.
Many thought he might spend the year away to gain experience, but Amorim looks set to keep him around.
That could be linked to United’s push to move on Rasmus Hojlund.
The Danish forward has slipped down the pecking order and is being chased by AC Milan, who are close to agreeing a £5.1m loan with an option to buy for £38.8m next summer.
Signs Hojlund Will Leave
Hojlund’s recent game time suggests Amorim has already made up his mind.
In the pre-season game against Everton, he only played 18 minutes, and he didn’t get on the pitch at all in the match against Fiorentina at Old Trafford.

That’s a big sign his role will be very limited if he stays.
If Hojlund goes, Obi could step up as Sesko’s main backup, with Cunha, Mbeumo and the returning Joshua Zirkzee offering extra options.
Balancing First-Team and Youth Football
At just 17, Obi is still developing, so Amorim will likely make sure he gets regular minutes by playing for United’s Under-21s when he’s not needed for the senior team.
That way, he stays sharp instead of sitting on the bench for weeks.
United fans love seeing young talent come through the ranks, and keeping Obi in the first-team picture sends a strong message that the club’s tradition of giving youth a chance is alive and well, even in a summer of big-money signings.
With Sesko leading the line and Obi waiting in the wings, United’s attack could have the perfect mix of star power and youthful hunger this season.
