Manchester United are once again in a tough place. The club has made a poor start to the new season, and questions are now being asked about boss Ruben Amorim.
United have only picked up four points from their first four league games, and the 3-0 defeat to rivals Manchester City in the derby showed just how far they are behind.
This is now United’s worst start to a league season in over 30 years. Fans are angry, pundits are piling pressure, and people are already wondering if Amorim will last the whole season at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese coach came in with high hopes, but results have not matched the big expectations.
Iraola Shines with Bournemouth
While United struggle, Bournemouth boss Andoni Iraola has been making a big name for himself. The Spaniard arrived on the south coast in 2023 and quickly turned Bournemouth into a strong and brave team.
In his first year, he guided them to 12th place, and then last season he pushed them up to 9th, their best league finish ever.
This season, Bournemouth have started well again, winning three of their first four matches. They even scored twice against champions Liverpool, showing they can compete with top sides.

Iraola uses a solid four-at-the-back system, his team plays fast football, and many see him as one of the best young managers in the Premier League.
It’s no surprise that both Manchester United and Manchester City are said to admire him.
Reports claim City even see him as a future replacement for Pep Guardiola, while United are keeping a close eye in case Amorim fails to turn things around.
What United Will Decide
For now, United’s board are not rushing. Big names inside the club, including Sir Jim Ratcliffe, believe the squad is strong enough to still reach the Champions League.
They feel it is too early to make another change, but patience will not last forever. If results stay poor and United fall away from European places, the pressure on Amorim will become too much.
Iraola has less than a year left on his current deal with Bournemouth, and that could make him an easier target. United may not act now, but the link is strong, and many fans are already talking about the Spaniard as a possible future boss.
For the moment, Amorim still has the job. But with United sitting 14th in the table and struggling for form, the rumours will only grow louder.
If Iraola keeps winning with Bournemouth, it may only be a matter of time before United make their move.
