Manchester United produced one of their best performances in years as they beat rivals Manchester City 2-0 at Old Trafford. It was a famous derby win that will live long in the memory of the home fans.
Many supporters felt nervous before kick-off, but United proved the doubters wrong. They were organised, brave, and full of fight from the first minute to the last.
Under the guidance of Michael Carrick, United looked confident and well-prepared for the challenge.
City dominated possession as expected, but United defended smartly and hit back with pace. Two second-half goals sealed a deserved win and sparked wild celebrations inside the stadium.
United Strong from the Start
The first half ended goalless, but United were the better side. They pressed City high and caused problems. The home team even had two goals ruled out for offside, showing their attacking intent.
Harry Maguire came close to opening the scoring when he smashed a header against the crossbar from close range. City struggled to break through as United’s defence stayed solid and focused.
Second-Half Goals Decide the Derby
United started the second half with real belief. In the 65th minute, Bryan Mbeumo broke free and calmly finished to give United the lead. Old Trafford erupted.
Just over ten minutes later, the moment of the match arrived. Patrick Dorgu picked up the ball, drove forward, and scored a superb goal to make it 2-0. It was a goal full of confidence and quality.
From there, United managed the game well and saw out a famous victory.

Started nervously and picked up a yellow card. Improved as the game went on and helped keep things tight on the left.

Rolled back the years with a strong midfield display. Broke up play and showed great experience. Received a warm ovation when subbed.
Bruno Fernandes: 8/10
A derby specialist. Led by example, pressed hard, and kept the team ticking. His energy and leadership were vital.
Kobbie Mainoo: 7/10
Worked tirelessly in midfield. Showed maturity beyond his years and handled the pressure well in a big game.

Looked sharp and confident. Hit the post late on and caused City problems with his movement and pace.
Patrick Dorgu: 9/10
The surprise star of the night. Played with fearlessness and quality. His goal was outstanding and he was United’s best player.
Bryan Mbeumo: 8/10
A constant threat. Took his goal brilliantly and stretched City’s defence all afternoon. A huge performance.

This was a massive night for Manchester United. They showed belief, fight, and quality against one of the best teams in the league. The derby win will give fans hope and confidence going forward and Patrick Dorgu’s name will be remembered for a long time after this stunning performance.
