Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim will be given more time to show his ideas at Old Trafford, even after the 3-1 defeat to Brentford on Saturday.
Reports say that owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is ready to give the Portuguese coach the full season to turn things around, even as pressure grows on his future.
Defeat In West London
United came into the game on a high after beating Chelsea last week. Fans thought this could be Amorim’s first back-to-back wins in the Premier League.
But the match at the Gtech Community Stadium was tough from the start.
Brentford striker Igor Thiago scored twice early on, leaving United chasing the game. New signing Benjamin Sesko got his first goal for the Red Devils, which gave some hope, but it was not enough.
A missed penalty from Bruno Fernandes in the second half made things worse, and Mathias Jensen sealed the win for Brentford with a late strike.
This defeat means United have now lost three of their first six league games. For a club of their size, the form is far below expectations.
Ratcliffe Shows Patience
Despite the poor start, BBC journalist Simon Stone has reported that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is still backing Amorim.
The owner believes it is only fair to judge the coach after a full season, once he has his “right team” in place.

There have been rumours of United looking at other managers, but officials at the club have denied this. They insist there is no shortlist and no one lined up to replace Amorim right now.
That stance shows some trust, even if the results are disappointing.
Tough Tests Ahead
United have only taken 34 points from Amorim’s 33 league games so far.
Worse, they have not won back-to-back league games since he arrived. For a team chasing European football, that is not good enough.
The upcoming fixtures will test Amorim even more. United must face Sunderland, who sit third in the league, before big matches against Liverpool, Tottenham and Brighton.
If results do not improve quickly, Ratcliffe’s patience may be tested further.
Pressure Still Growing
While Ratcliffe is keeping faith for now, fans are worried. Losing to Brentford, who many thought would fight relegation, has raised big questions.
The squad looks unsettled, and confidence is low.
Amorim says he wants time to build, but in football time is rare. United will need strong performances in the coming weeks, or the noise around the manager’s job will only get louder.
