Ben Foster Drops Bold Verdict on Man Utd’s Season: Agrees with Shocking Premier League Prediction!

by Alex Matthews

Manchester United are flying high once again. After a tough start to the season, the Red Devils are finally showing signs of being back to their best under manager Ruben Amorim.

Their latest 4-2 win over Brighton at Old Trafford made it three league victories in a row, and it has fans and pundits starting to believe something special might be brewing at the Theatre of Dreams.

United’s October run has been one to remember. The side beat Sunderland 2-0 before the international break, then stunned Liverpool with a 2-1 win at Anfield, a victory that lifted spirits across the fanbase.

That strong form continued at home against Brighton, where goals from Matheus Cunha, Casemiro, and a brilliant brace from Bryan Mbeumo sealed the points.

The result now sees United sitting sixth in the Premier League table, level on points with Manchester City and just one point clear of defending champions Liverpool. For a team that finished 15th last season, it’s a massive turnaround.

Ben Foster agrees with bold prediction for United’s finish

Former Manchester United and England goalkeeper Ben Foster has now given his verdict on Amorim’s impressive side, and he’s backing the Red Devils to finish inside the Premier League top five this season.

During a chat on The Fozcast, The Ben Foster Podcast, Foster was joined by his co-host, Robert, who said he believes United will finish among the top teams this season.

“With the way the league’s going at the moment, you’d probably say they’re going to finish in the top five,” Robert said.

Foster didn’t hesitate to agree, responding:

“The way the league’s going, I totally agree with what Robert said. The general quality of the league is so much better across the board that anybody and everybody seems to be beating anybody and everybody.”

The former goalkeeper also suggested that this season could be one of the most unpredictable Premier League campaigns in years.

He believes the traditional top sides might drop more points than usual, which could open the door for United to climb even higher up the table.

“We’re not going to see any record points tallies this season for sure,” Foster added. “But from the second, third, fourth, fifth, we could see a much lower points total. So anybody can get into it.”

Amorim’s rebuild is starting to take shape

Credit must go to manager Ruben Amorim, who seems to be getting his message across to the squad after a rocky start to life in Manchester.

The Portuguese boss has managed to bring energy, structure, and attacking intent back to Old Trafford.

The summer signings have been a big part of that. Matheus Cunha has quickly settled into the attack, Bryan Mbeumo looks like one of the bargains of the season, and even Casemiro seems rejuvenated after a slow start.

Amorim’s decision to trust these players has been rewarded with fast-paced, confident football that’s bringing results.

United fans have waited years to see consistent, attacking football, and under Amorim, that might finally be returning.

Tough fixtures ahead for the Red Devils

While United’s current form is impressive, the next few weeks will be a real test of how far they’ve come.

They travel to the City Ground this weekend to face Nottingham Forest, a side that’s difficult to beat at home. Kick-off for that clash is at 3 pm UK time on Saturday.

After that, things get even tougher with an away trip to Tottenham Hotspur on November 8th. Foster himself admitted this could be a “big ask” for Amorim’s men, given Spurs’ strong home record.

“It’s away at Forest first, then Spurs away. It’s a big ask, isn’t it?” Foster said during the podcast.

These two fixtures will show whether United can maintain their winning momentum or if their run will hit a speed bump.

But one thing is clear, confidence in the dressing room is sky-high right now.

Fans starting to believe again

United’s supporters have endured years of frustration, but there’s a growing sense that something positive is happening under Amorim.

The players look united, the manager’s tactics are clicking, and key figures like Bruno Fernandes and Bryan Mbeumo are stepping up when it matters most.

A top-five finish might have sounded ambitious just a few months ago, but now it feels entirely possible.

If United keep their form going and avoid injuries, they could even push for Champions League qualification.

Ben Foster’s prediction has added even more excitement to the mix, and if Amorim keeps the team grounded and focused, Manchester United could end this season far stronger than anyone expected.
