Manchester United might be in a better position to sign a top midfield star after Arsenal made a big move in the transfer market.
Arsenal’s signing of a Sporting Lisbon striker has changed the game, and it could give United the upper hand in their chase for a £70million-rated midfielder.
The player United are watching closely is one of the best in Portugal right now.
He plays for Sporting CP and has also done well for the Denmark national team. United have had their eyes on him for weeks, but they weren’t the only club interested.
Juventus from Italy were also trying to make a move. However, their plan now seems to be falling apart.
Juventus Facing Big Problems
Juventus were hoping to get the player by offering another midfielder, Douglas Luiz, as part of a swap deal.
But there’s a big issue, Luiz is on a massive wage over £4million a year. That’s way more than what Sporting usually pays.
This means the swap deal is likely off, which is good news for Manchester United.

Sporting have already made big money from selling their star striker to Arsenal. That sale brought in over £60million.
Now, they are in no rush to sell again and can afford to keep their top players unless someone meets the full release clause.
United Can Take Their Time
Because Juventus are struggling to sort a deal and Sporting don’t need quick cash, United could wait and strike later.
They don’t need to rush. Even if they miss out this summer, they could still make a move in the next window.
United are also trying to sell some players to help with their budget. Big names like Jadon Sancho and Antony have not gone on the US tour and are training back at Carrington.
The manager, Ruben Amorim, has said that players will only leave if the price is right. He has made it clear the club won’t be bullied in the market.
So, while it looked like United might miss out on their target, the situation is now looking better.
Arsenal’s signing has helped, and Juventus can’t afford the player anymore. If United plays it smart, they could land a world-class midfielder who fits perfectly next to Bruno Fernandes.
